Luming Liang is a principal research manager in Microsoft’s Applied Sciences Group (ASG).
Before moving back to Microsoft, he was a software engineer in Uber’s Advanced Technology Group focusing on extracting information from imagery using computer vision and deep learning to solve large-scale, real-world problems.
Before that, he was a data and applied scientist in Microsoft’s Bing Geospatial group until it was acquired by Uber in 2015.
While earning his M.S. and Ph.D. at the Colorado School of Mines, Luming interned at Landmark Graphics, Halliburton (2009), ION Geophyiscs (2012), and Microsoft (2013), respectively.
