Rémi is a scientist in Microsoft’s Applied Science Group (ASG).
He joined The Microsoft Spatial AI Zurich Lab in December, 2023, and has been working on improving the localization and mapping algorithms with a special focus on scalability, efficiency, and robustness. Since July, 2024, the team joined ASG and started to leverage multimodal vision and language models to enhance global scene understanding.
Before joining Microsoft, Rémi completed his Ph.D. at ETH Zurich in the Computer Vision and Geometry (CVG) group under the supervision of Dr. Marc Pollefeys. His thesis aimed to improve local features for localization and mapping, including novel types of features such as line features.
Outside of work, Rémi enjoys time outdoors in the mountains, whether it's for trail running, hiking, biking, climbing, or skiing. Learn more about Rémi here.
