Anik Gupta is a senior software engineer in the Applied Sciences Group (ASG) at Microsoft, where he is working on next-generation user experiences. His work spans among A.I. applications, cloud software, workflows for big-data analytics and security, and robotics.

Before joining ASG in 2024, Anik worked in Microsoft’s Mixed Reality group on the HoloLens 2 and Spatial AI teams, where he developed algorithms and experiences for spatial and object mapping, as well as relocalization.  He previously interned in the Mixed Reality group, contributing to 3D face-tracking technology for avatars, and in the Azure Sentinel Security team, where he built machine-learning pipelines and automated data filtering systems.

Anik holds bachelor’s degrees in computer science and data science (with a domain emphasis in business) and a master’s degree in computer vision and AI, all from UC Berkeley.  His academic work included synthetic data generation using generative A.I., natural-language-driven scene modelling with Gaussian Splatting, and 3D face-tracking software for non-human primates in collaboration with a neuroscience lab.

Outside of work, Anik is an avid soccer fan and loves to play whenever he gets the chance.  He also enjoys playing table tennis and is always up for a game of just about any sport.
