Simon Janezic

Software Engineer II

Simon Janezic
Simon Janezic

Simon Janezic is a software engineer in the Applied Sciences Group at Microsoft.

Most of his career has been in the computer-vision domain, working on a wide variety of tasks: researching and prototyping, e.g., human pose estimation, automated modelling of urban structures, integrating computer-vision algorithms in desktop products, and optimizing them to run in constrained environments (embedded systems).  Occasionally Simon works with cloud & web technologies where he finds a sweet spot between research  and engineering and being a bit of a jack-of-all-trades.

He earned his master’s degree in computer science from the University of Ljubljana in Slovenia, but has been living and working in Switzerland for the last few years.

In his free time, Simon enjoys sports and likes to play games.  Long ago he was a breakdancer, but today he mostly enjoys running, weightlifting, and volleyball.
