Sihui He
Research Intern (2014)

Sihui He is a 2014 research intern in the Applied Sciences Group (ASG) at Microsoft.
Originally from China, Sihui earned her bachelor’s degree in information engineering in Zhejiang University in 2009, and is currently a Ph.D. student in the College of Optics and Photonics at the University of Central Florida. Her research is on the development of liquid crystal devices for display and sensor applications. She developed a projection display using a new liquid crystal material with a fast response, which can lower power consumption and improve resolution density. She also developed a liquid crystal sensor to detect biomarkers of liver diseases and improved the sensitivity of the sensor by a factor of ten.
Besides research, Sihui likes outreach activities and served as president of SPIE Student Chapter at UCF in 2013-2014. She also enjoys outdoor activities such as hiking and swimming.
