Russ Sanchez
Hardware Engineering Manager
Russ Sanchez manages hardware incubation in the Applied Sciences Group. His driving passion is concepting and prototyping new device experiences that unlock human potential.
Russ has been building and shipping products at Microsoft since 1992, including the Natural Keyboard, SideWinder, Xbox, Band, and Surface. He has developed many research and incubation products including robots, wearables, telepresence, and ambient devices. He has contributed in a variety of roles including as a program manager, engineering manager, product manager, and creative director.
Russ holds an M.S. in Product Design from Stanford University and a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of California at Irvine. In his spare time, Russ enjoys soccer, movies with his wife and son, and enduro motorcycling in Northwest forests.
