Oussama Elachqar is a research manager in Microsoft’s Applied Sciences Group (ASG) leading a team of machine-learning researchers who are working on incubations to enable next-generation user experiences.

Before joining ASG he worked on multiple projects at Microsoft, including building multimodal open-domain conversational agents, detecting bias in images and text, and neural sequence-to-sequence models for A.I. writing assistance (neural rewrite).

Oussama graduated with an M.S. in computer science from Georgia Tech and a Diplôme d’Ingénieur from INP-ENSEEIHT in Toulouse, France.

His research interests include natural-language processing (NLP), computer vision, recommendation systems, and inking analysis.
