Mo is a senior applied scientist in the Applied Sciences Group (ASG) at Microsoft. 
He was trained in electrical engineering at Amirkabir and Sharif Universities in Tehran, Iran, before earning his Ph.D. in MRI method development and computational neuroscience at Bilkent University, Ankara, Turkey.
Before joining Microsoft, he was a machine-learning computer-vision scientist at Vicon, Oxford, UK, where he was involved in model development and deployment for markerless motion-capture solutions.  Before that, he was a researcher at FMRIB, Oxford University, U.K., developing MRI methods for primate functional imaging.  In the period between his undergrad and Ph.D. studies, he worked as an embedded engineer.
He is broadly interested in machine learning, from theoretical underpinnings to applications as products.
Outside working hours, expect to find Mo doing a combination of: music, baking, books, films, running, swimming, cycling, and climbing.
