Michael Zhang
Senior DSP Software Engineer (Alum)
Michael Zhang is a senior digital signal processing (DSP) software engineer in Microsoft’s Applied Sciences Group (ASG), where he works on improving the voice-capturing pipeline, the quality of user voice in meetings and recordings. He is interested in both traditional and machine learning technologies boosting the end user audio experience on Microsoft’s consumer devices and OEM products.
Before joining ASG, he worked as an audio DSP engineer on the devices team at Amazon, where he architected and implemented both the capture and playback pipelines as well as audio features for smart-glass wearable products. Before that, he was an audio firmware and algorithm-development engineer at Silicon Labs, where he developed high-performance DSP algorithms in mixed-signal radio-tuner system-on-a-chip (SoC) chipsets.
Michael earned an M.S. degree in electrical engineering focusing on DSP and communication.
In his spare time, he enjoys tennis, guitar, and movies.
