Hongyang Deng
Principal DSP Engineer (Alum)
Hongyang Deng is a DSP audio software engineer with the Applied Sciences Group (ASG) at Microsoft. He is passionate about developing audio algorithms and technologies to improve the user experience on consumer devices. He is working with the team to build innovative solutions to help create the future of Microsoft’s hardware and software businesses.
Before joining Microsoft, Hongyang worked as an audio software engineer at Google, where he developed audio features for wearable products such as Pixel Buds. Before that, he worked with several companies on VoIP applications and devices, smart speakers, and DSP software for telecommunication systems.
Hongyang holds a Ph.D. in electrical engineering focusing on adaptive signal processing from George Washington University. He is originally from Chengdu, China, where he earned his M.S. and B.S. degrees from Sichuan University.
Besides working, he likes reading, hiking, and public speaking.
