Hector Li
Principal Software Engineer
Hector is a principal software engineer in Microsoft’s Applied Sciences Group (ASG), specializing in enabling model inference on NPUs.
He began his career at Reuters in 2007, where he developed real-time financial data distribution systems. In 2013, Hector joined the Office Big Data team at Microsoft China, contributing to the evolution of data platforms, starting with Hadoop and later advancing to streaming technologies including Kafka, Spark, and Cassandra.
In 2017, Hector transferred to the ONNX Runtime team in the Bay Area, becoming one of its original developers. His early work focused on the CPU and CUDA execution providers (EP’s), and later led the development of the QNN E.P. to support Qualcomm NPU’s.
Outside of work, Hector enjoys hiking, biking, and fishing.
