Brad Ekin
Senior DSP Audio Engineer
Brad Ekin is an audio signal processing engineer with the Applied Sciences Group (ASG) at Microsoft. His passions are in developing technologies to enable novel user-experiences in communications systems and audio recording applications. He is part of a dynamic team working to create the next generation of audio and acoustic technologies across Microsoft and Windows devices.
Before joining ASG, Brad worked as an audio engineer with Microsoft Surface developing premium audio hardware and software across the Surface portfolio. He obtained his M.S. degree in electrical engineering from the University of Washington (2016) where his research was focused on stochastic signal processing, machine learning, and auditory neuroscience.
Brad is originally from Michigan, where he earned his B.S. degree in electrical engineering from Lake Superior State University in 2011. Between degrees, he was an engineer managing mission-critical electrical systems infrastructures during the construction of U.S. Navy littoral combat ships.
In his free time, he enjoys running, boating, hiking, and spending time with his family.
