Andrew Whigham is a research software development engineer in the Applied Sciences Group (ASG) at Microsoft where he is working on image processing and computer vision with a focus on consumer and edge devices. In addition to his current work, he is interested in hardware acceleration, computer graphics, and efficiency and robustness in A.I. systems.
Before joining ASG, Andrew worked on camera drivers and calibration in Microsoft’s Mixed Reality division with a focus on high reliability, real-time passthrough video for augmented reality devices. He received a B.S. in computer science from the University of Florida. While there, he researched software verification and static analysis at the UF Embedded Systems Laboratory and interned at Microsoft.
Outside of work, Andrew enjoys reading, hiking, and spending time with family.
