Afrina Tabassum
Research Intern (2023)


Afrina Tabassum is a 2023 research intern in the Applied Sciences Group (ASG) at Microsoft where she is developing efficient algorithms for audio representation learning.
She is a fourth-year Ph.D. student in the computer science department at Virginia Tech. Her projects involve self-supervised learning, contrastive learning, and multimodal learning. Prior to this, Afrina completed her bachelor’s in computer science and engineering from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) in 2019.
